The unwinding begins the moment you arrive. Following a warm welcome, you'll be shown to one of eight beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with its own luxurious en suite bathroom. We've thought of everything, from little treats like complementary toiletries to more practical concerns like hair dryers, internet access and your own hospitality tray. After that, it's up to you. Our pleasant gardens suggest drinks on the lawn or a lovely outdoor eating experience. Open log fires and a cosy drawing room invite you to curl up and relax. If it weren't for our superb location, you'd never want to go out - but the Lake District beckons, and it's all just waiting to be explored.
The Knoll's eight large double or twin rooms include the choice of a fabulous four-poster or a deluxe suite with king-size French sleigh bed. Furnished to the highest standards, our bedrooms feature white Egyptian cotton linen on sumptious duvets and beautiful individual decor. They are all equipped with TV , DVD, alarm clock radios with iPod docking stations, individual Freesat, direct dial telephones, modem points (WiFi in the public areas of the house), and hospitality trays. And there are laundry and ironing facilities should you need them. Our bathrooms feature either spacious power-showers or sumptuous corner baths with overhead showers. The deluxe suite has an exquisite bathroom with large double-ended bath and a separate shower.
You'll be pleased to know you can start and end your day with award-winning cuisine right here at the Knoll. It is also our pleasure to cater for vegetarians. Just let us know if you have any special dietary requirements and we will do our utmost to cater for your needs. Choose from an extensive variety of wholesome and mouthwatering breakfasts. For lunch, ask us to pack up a delightful picnic; afternoon tea is available by arrangement. And what could be easier and more enjoyable than coming back to a superb table d'hote dinner or in summer, a fabulous mezze. All our food is prepared carefully and conscientiously with fresh (and where possible, organic) local produce.
The four poster room is a really special place for that romantic. The luscious deep pink and chocolate fabrics complement the ornate four poster bed. Finished with a divine chaise longue and a bathroom with a corner bath and shower.
The deluxe suite is a bright and spacious room. Perfect to relax and enjoy the scenery and tranquility of the Knoll. The room has a large sleigh bed along with a separate seating area with a sofa and easy chair. The room is also equipped with a large ensuite bathroom with a double ended bath and separate glass shower cubicle.
There are four standard double or twin rooms. All are well equipped with quality ensuite shower rooms. As with the deluxe rooms, all rooms have Sky TV, an iPod dock and alarm clock, excellent hosptiality trays with tea, herbal infusions, coffee, chocolate and homemade biscuits.
The Knoll is set amidst wooded countryside at the south end of Lake Windermere just five minutes' walk from the attractive village of Lakeside and within easy driving distance of many Lakeland attractions (Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside 30 minutes by car, Hawkshead 20 minutes).
