At the Baskerville Arms we pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere with the highest standards of hospitality. As a small family run Inn we believe in the personal touch to ensure every guest gets the most from their stay.
The Baskerville Arms is a family run, Visit Wales & AA 3-star rated Inn with 13 en suite bed & breakfast rooms, restaurant, bar and function rooms.
In the heart of some of best countryside in the mid-Wales borders, you couldn't pick a nicer spot to explore this wild and wonderful land. Close to the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons and within walking distance of the River Wye, you will always have something to do!
We are also a meeting place and cater for Weddings, Private parties, Conferences or Seminars.
Our Chef prepares the menu daily from fresh local produce and you can be assured of a great dining experience in our restaurant or bar.

We are located just 1.3 miles from the famous town of Hay-on-Wye, known throughout the world as the 'Town of Books', which every May, is home to the Hay Festival of the arts. This unique town with its maze of narrow ancient streets, now houses over 30 bookshops, a variety of galleries, antique and gift shops and numerous cafes and tearooms.
The Baskerville Arms was once more famously known as "The Swan" in the diaries of Reverend Francis Kilvert from the late 1800s.
Relax with your favourite book in our comfortable bar area or in our colourful garden with its views across the Wye Valley to the Black Mountains beyond. Perhaps enjoy a drink whilst snuggling in front of our log fires. Alternatively, check your email over the Wifi network then chill-out in front of the television or play darts in the Bar.
Enjoy a drink in our charismatic bar or go through to the candle-lit restaurant for that romantic dinner or a meal with friends. Our extensive menu provides delicious home-cooked dishes made by our Chefs, using fresh local produce wherever possible. We also offer a comprehensive selection of International wines to accompany your meals.
We offer reductions for longer stays and concessions for midweek breaks!

We have 8 double rooms, 3 twin rooms (ie. 2 beds), 1 single and 1 family room. Many of our rooms have been lovingly renovated in a contemporary style. All have en-suite bathrooms (towels and soap/shampoo are supplied). Tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryers and TV's. WiFi Internet access available in all rooms. Ironing boards are available.

In one of the most beautiful areas of Britain you couldn't pick a nicer spot to explore this wild and wonderful countryside. On the doorstep of the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons and within walking distance of the River Wye, you will never be short of something to see and do.
The dramatic Black Mountains form the eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and provide a dramatic contrast to the Wye Valley. They comprise a series of long heather-covered ridges, separating narrow and remote valleys. Here the sweeping views of rugged escarpments and untamed moorland are home to the peregrine falcon and red grouse.
There is something for everyone to enjoy; Walking, Driving, Horse Riding, Cycling, Canoeing, Climbing, Abseiling, Shooting. There is so much to do in this area that it is impossible to list everything here.
